Recap: Warrior Run Defenders vs. Bloomsburg Panthers
After flying high against the Southern Columbia Area Tigers last Friday, the Warrior Run Defenders came back down to earth. Warrior Run fell 42-32 to Bloomsburg on Wednesday. The match was a 17-17 toss-up at halftime, but Warrior Run was outscored by Bloomsburg in the second.
Brynna Zentner was her usual excellent self, scoring 19 points along with nine rebounds and three blocks for Bloomsburg. That makes it three consecutive games in which Zentner has scored at least a third of Bloomsburg's points. Another player making a difference was Bella Pistoia, who scored eight points along with eight rebounds.
Warrior Run's defeat dropped their record down to 7-6. As for Bloomsburg, they now have a winning record of 8-7.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Warrior Run on the road again on Saturday and play against Hughesville at 7:30 p.m. on January 20th. Hughesville will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak. As for Bloomsburg, they will head out on the road to take on Loyalsock Township at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. Loyalsock Township will be looking to keep their five-game home win streak alive.
