Baseball Game Preview: Columbus Blue Devils vs. LaGrange Grangers

Columbus hasn't had much luck against LaGrange recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Blue Devils will look to defend their home field against the Grangers at 5:30 p.m. Columbus is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7 runs per game this season.

Columbus lost 12-6 to Glenwood on Tuesday. The Blue Devils have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Michael Nottleman made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and fired off two home runs and five RBI while going 2-for-4. Another player making a difference was Caden Bryans, who scored two runs and stole three bases while going 3-for-3.

Meanwhile, LaGrange waltzed into their contest on Friday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They never let the Tigers get on the board and left with a 13-0 win. Considering the Grangers have won ten games by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Columbus' loss dropped their record down to 13-12. As for LaGrange, their victory bumped their record up to 16-9.

Columbus couldn't quite get it done against LaGrange in their previous meeting back in February of 2024 as they fell 4-1. Can the Blue Devils avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
