Baseball Recap: Brookfield Academy Comes Up Short

Brookfield Academy fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against Living Word Lutheran on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Timberwolves by a score of 5-4. The Blue Knights haven't had much luck with the Timberwolves recently, as the team has come up short the last nine times they've met.

Brookfield Academy saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Connor Tracy, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

Brookfield Academy's loss dropped their record down to 11-10. As for Living Word Lutheran, they pushed their record up to 20-3 with the victory, which was their ninth straight on the road.

The two teams are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. Brookfield Academy will face off against Kingdom Prep Lutheran at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Wolfpack have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 11.33 runs per game on average), something the Blue Knights will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Living Word Lutheran, they will challenge Mayville at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The last four games the Cardinals have played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
