Wheeler faced Sprayberry in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. The Wildcats had just enough and edged out the Yellow Jackets 2-1. The victory was familiar territory for the Wildcats, who have now won four contests in a row.

The match was a true back-and-forth as no team won consecutive sets, but in the end it was Wheeler who won the one that mattered. The match finished with set scores of 25-21, 18-25, 15-3.

Wheeler's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-1. As for Sprayberry, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-11.

Coincidentally, Wheeler and Sprayberry will both be playing Denmark the next time they take the court. The Yellow Jackets will head out to face Denmark at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, while the Wildcats will play them later in the day, at 7:30 p.m.
