Volleyball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Kennedy Klueger and Lauren Fitzgibbon Lead Homestead to Victory

Homestead proved they can win big on Tuesday (they won by three) and on Thursday they proved they can win the close ones too. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 win over the West Bend East Suns. The Highlanders haven't had any issues with the Suns recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Homestead wouldn't go down easily and took West Bend East into a fifth set where they got it done with a three-point win. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 22-25, 25-22, 25-16, 23-25, 15-12.

Homestead was led to victory by Lauren Fitzgibbon and Kennedy Klueger. Fitzgibbon had 15 digs and one assist, while Klueger had 14 digs and one assist. That's the most digs Klueger has posted since back in August.

Despite the loss, West Bend East still got an impressive performance from Sami Weber, who had 19 digs and four assists. Weber is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 11 or more in each of the last four games she's played.

Homestead's win bumped their record up to 18-11. As for West Bend East, their loss dropped their record down to 13-20.

Looking ahead, after both having extra time off, Homestead and Cedarburg will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for West Bend East, they will face off against Arrowhead at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
