Volleyball Recap: Weeki Wachee Comes Up Short

Weeki Wachee was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They fell 2-0 to the Riverview Sarasota Rams. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Rams this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 2-0 on Friday.

Marlee Schumacher paced Weeki Wachee's offense, picking up five kills. Schumacher got some help from Kendyl Eastin and her 11 assists. Finally, Schumacher was also a dominant defender, finishing with a team-high nine blocks.

Weeki Wachee's defeat dropped their record down to 12-8. As for Riverview Sarasota, the victory got them back to even at 10-10.

Weeki Wachee wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 2-0 loss against Florida State University High School on the 27th. As for Riverview Sarasota, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Venice at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
