Softball Recap: Bainbridge Bearcats vs. Seminole County Indians

Bainbridge had lost four straight at home, but on Monday they dropped down to 6-15 to make it five. They fell just short of the Seminole County Indians by a score of 11-10. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Indians this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 23-22 last Wednesday.

Auburn Culpepper put in work while hitting and pitching. She struck out ten batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off two hits (and only one walk). That's the fewest earned runs she has allowed since back in August. She was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in all five of her plate appearances with one home run, two runs, and one triple. She is also on a roll when it comes to hits, as she's now got three or more in each of the last three games she's played.

In other batting news, Bainbridge got a massive performance out of Ja'Ziya Bradley, who got on base in three of her five plate appearances with four stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. Bradley has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played. Aubrey Williams was another key player, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base.

As for Seminole County, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-9 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.2 runs over those games.

On Seminole County's side, M Turner was incredible, going 1-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. That home run was Turner's first of the season. Another player making a difference was J Henry, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and two runs.

Bainbridge has already played their next matchup, a 22-1 defeat against Thomasville on the 30th. As for Seminole County, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 14-2 victory against Randolph-Clay on the 30th.
