Baseball Recap: Belmont Beats Inter-Lakes for Their Tenth Straight Win

Belmont had already won nine in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8.1 runs) and they went ahead and made it ten on Tuesday. Everything went their way against the Inter-Lakes Lakers as they made off with a 9-0 win. Considering the Red Raiders have won six matchups by more than seven runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Wyatt Bamford made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 12 over seven innings pitched. Those 12 strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with three RBI, one run, and one double. He is on a roll when it comes to RBI, as he's now brought in three or more in each of the last three games he's played.

In other batting news, Belmont let Wyatt Divers and Brayden Townsend run wild. Divers went 3-for-4 with three stolen bases, four runs, and one triple, while Townsend went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one triple. Divers has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last five times he's played. Max Ryder was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.

Belmont's record now sits at 15-2. As for Inter-Lakes, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-12.
