Baseball Game Preview: Cristo Rey Jesuit Cristeros vs. Fasman Yeshiva

The Cristo Rey Jesuit Cristeros are packing up and heading out on the road for their first away game of the season: they will square off against Fasman Yeshiva at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Last Thursday, Cristo Rey Jesuit beat Mansueto 9-5.

Meanwhile, Fasman Yeshiva took care of business in their home opener (and then some) on Friday. They blew past Rauner 16-1.

Yair Aberman looked comfortable as he struck out six batters over two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and only one walk).

At the plate, Yahu Greenberger was a standout: he scored a run while going 2-for-2. The team also got some help courtesy of Yakir Schwartz, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

Fasman Yeshiva always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .667. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Rauner only posted an OBP of .267.

Cristo Rey Jesuit might still be hurting after the 17-3 loss they got from Fasman Yeshiva in their previous matchup back in April of 2021. Can Cristo Rey Jesuit avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
