Volleyball Recap: Upsala Takes a Loss

Upsala lost against Osakis back in September and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Cardinals fell 3-1 to the Silverstreaks. While the Cardinals didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Silverstreaks 25-18 in the first set.

Upsala started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The final score came out to 18-25, 25-21, 25-19, 25-20.

Zoey Leners paced Upsala's offense, picking up 23 kills. Leners got some help from Sierra Bense and her 27 assists. Lydia Kokett controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

Upsala has been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last 12 matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-14 record this season. As for Osakis, they pushed their record up to 7-8 with the win, which was their third straight on the road.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming matches. Upsala will head out to square off against Browerville at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Osakis, they will venture away from home to take on Bertha-Hewitt at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
