Basketball Recap: Madera South Takes a Loss

Madera South lost against Kerman back in February of 2023 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Madera South Stallions lost to the Kerman Lions at home by a 42-23 margin. While losing is never fun, the Stallions can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 757th, while the Lions are ranked 172nd).

Despite the loss, Madera South still got an impressive performance from MAYRILIN VASQUEZ, who posted nine points.

Madera South dropped their record down to 3-8 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight at home. As for Kerman, the win (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 10-3.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Madera South will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Firebaugh at 6:30 p.m. on January 3, 2025. As for Kerman, they will host Tulare Union at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
