Football Recap: Kofa Kings vs. Shadow Mountain Matadors
Kofa was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 18th straight loss dating back to last season. They were dealt a 38-0 defeat at the hands of the Shadow Mountain Matadors. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Kings of the 51-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2023.
Sean Collins was his usual excellent self, rushing for 122 yards and two touchdowns on only 11 carries for Shadow Mountain. That's the most rushing yards Collins has posted since back in October of 2023.
Kofa's defeat dropped their record down to 0-8. As for Shadow Mountain, the victory got them back to even at 4-4.
Kofa will take on ALA - West Foothills at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. ALA - West Foothills will roll in looking for their ninth straight win, something Kofa surely won't give up without a fight. As for Shadow Mountain, they will square off against Scottsdale Preparatory Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Scottsdale Preparatory Academy is coming into the contest with four straight victories on the road, so Shadow Mountain will have to stop a squad with plenty of momentum.
