Football Game Preview: Northwest Mohawks vs. Vinton County Vikings

The Northwest Mohawks are taking a road trip to challenge the Vinton County Vikings at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

On Friday, Northwest was just a hair shy of victory and fell 21-20 to Valley. The Mohawks have struggled against the Indians recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Meanwhile, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Vinton County beat Alexander 12-8 on Friday. The Vikings haven't had any issues with the Spartans recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive win against them.

Northwest's defeat dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Vinton County, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-5.

Northwest beat Vinton County 19-11 in their previous matchup back in October of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Mohawks since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
