Softball Recap: Hannibal Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Hannibal can bid farewell to their four-game losing streak thanks to their game on Thursday. Everything went their way against the Canton Tigers as they made off with a 13-3 victory. This was a revenge game for the Pirates: when they faced off against the Tigers on September 6th, they had to take a 5-4 loss.

Noveli Collier was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she pitched five innings while giving up three earned runs off six hits. Collier was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with two doubles, one run, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Addison Friday was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three runs, one triple, and two RBI. Those three hits gave her a new career-high. Avril Collier was another key player, going 1-for-3 with three RBI and one run.

Hannibal's win bumped their record up to 2-10. As for Canton, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-8.

Looking ahead, Hannibal will challenge Moberly at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Canton, they will be taking part in a tournament against Community at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday. The Tigers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Trojans have averaged an impressive 6.4 runs per game this season.
