Basketball Recap: Clarion Area Bobcats vs. Clarion-Limestone Lions

The Clarion Area Bobcats scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Thursday. They breezed by Clarion-Limestone at home to the tune of 65-35. Clarion Area has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six matchups by 25 points or more this season.

Sophie Babington went supernova for Clarion Area, scoring 21 points. Marley Kline was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with eight rebounds.

The win (which was Clarion Area's fifth in a row) raised their record to 11-6. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.8 points per game. As for Clarion-Limestone, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-10 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Clarion Area has the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome the Raiders at 7:30 p.m. on January 29th. Hopefully Brookville focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 12 on Saturday. As for Clarion-Limestone, they will be playing in front of their home fans against the Elker at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Ridgway presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Lions in Pennsylvania (the Elker are ranked 156th, while the Lions are ranked 584th).
