Volleyball Recap: Psalms Christian Academy Victorious

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against NELA Christian Homeschool, Psalms Christian Academy was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They came out on top against the Lake Area HomeSchool Sports Wildcats by a score of 3-1. This was a revenge game for the Ambassadors: when they faced off against the Wildcats back in August, they had to take a 3-2 loss.

The final score came out to 25-21, 23-25, 25-19, 25-17.

Psalms Christian Academy found their leader in sophomore Wesley Woods, who had 13 kills, seven blocks, five digs, and three aces. Those seven blocks set a new season-high mark for Woods. The team also got some help courtesy of Brandon Jennings, who had ten aces.

Psalms Christian Academy was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 21 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces every time they've taken the court this season.

Psalms Christian Academy's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-6. As for Lake Area HomeSchool Sports, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-6.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Psalms Christian Academy will challenge rival Midstate Homeschool at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Lake Area HomeSchool Sports is set to square off against their familiar foe NELA Christian Homeschool at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
