Basketball Recap: Brilan Biesecker Key Part of a Team Effort in Knights Win

Renaissance Academy won the last time they faced The Christian Academy and things went their way on Thursday too. The Renaissance Academy Knights put the hurt on The Christian Academy with a sharp 50-26 win. The Knights have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three matchups by 24 points or more this season.

Renaissance Academy's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Brilan Biesecker, who posted 12 points in addition to eight boards and seven assists. With that strong performance, Biesecker is now averaging an impressive 2.4 steals per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Kasira Barber, who went 6 of 13 on her way to 14 points and eight rebounds.

Renaissance Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in three consecutive games.

Renaissance Academy's win bumped their record up to 3-4. As for The Christian Academy, they are on a 20-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-5.

Renaissance Academy will be taking part in a tournament against Sacred Heart Academy at 12:00 p.m. on December 27th. As for The Christian Academy, they will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Philadelphia Montgomery Christian Academy at 4:00 p.m. on January 3, 2025.
