Softball Recap: Denver East Starts Season with Win Against Thornton

Denver East took care of business in their home opener (and then some) on Monday. They were the clear victors by a 14-4 margin over the Thornton Trojans.

Alyssa Montoya was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. The team also got some help courtesy of Braylee Hackl, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs.

Thornton's loss dropped their record down to 1-1.

Coming up, Denver East will hit the road for the first time this season to face off against Conifer at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Thornton, they will venture away from home to take on Boulder at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Trojans are facing the Panthers at the right time seeing as the Panthers are stuck on a three-game losing streak.
