Football Recap: Centennial Takes Down Hopkins in a Playoff Battle

Centennial had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They took their contest on Friday with ease, bagging a 48-12 victory over the Hopkins Royals. Considering the Cougars have won five games by more than 20 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

The win was the fifth in a row for Centennial, bringing their record up to 8-1. The victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 10.8 points on average over those games. As for Hopkins, they now have a losing record of 4-5.

Looking ahead, Centennial will take on Shakopee on Friday. Hopkins does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
