Soccer Recap: Oak Park Takes a Loss

Oak Park was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They opened the new year with a less-than-successful 2-0 defeat to the Independence Falcons. The Eagles were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Falcons apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February of 2024.

Oak Park's defeat dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Independence, with the win, they broke their five-game losing streak and moved their record to 1-5-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Oak Park will venture away from home to face off against Ventura at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Independence, they will challenge El Camino Real at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
