Baseball Recap: Mendon Unity Comes Up Short

Mendon Unity was the 13-1 winner over Camp Point Central when they last played one another back in May of 2025, but their luck changed this time around. The Mustangs fell just short of the Panthers by a score of 8-7 on Thursday. The Mustangs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Blake Arnsman was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and one double. That home run was his first of the season. Jayce Huntley was another key player, getting on base in two of his four plate appearances with two runs and one RBI.

Mendon Unity's loss dropped their record down to 10-9. As for Camp Point Central, they pushed their record up to 15-4 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home.

Mendon Unity wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, an 8-5 win against Quincy Notre Dame on the 20th. As for Camp Point Central, they have also already played their next matchup, a 2-0 victory against West Central co-op [Winchester-Bluffs] on the 15th.
