Baseball Recap: Alcona Takes a Loss

After flying high against Atlanta last Thursday, Alcona came back down to earth. The Tigers lost 22-12 to the Au Gres-Sims Wolverines on Tuesday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Wolverines this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 20-0 back in April.

Alcona saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Lochlin Gordy, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. Gordy has become a key player for the Tigers: the team is 3-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 1-14 otherwise. Another was Nathan Geddert, who went 3-for-4 with two doubles, one run, and one RBI.

Alcona has been struggling recently as they've lost 11 of their last 12 games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-15 record this season. As for Au Gres-Sims, with the victory, they broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 3-7.

As of now, neither Alcona nor the Wolverines have any future games scheduled.
