Softball Game Preview: Ringgold Tigers vs. Northwest Whitfield Bruins + Official Tickets

Ringgold and Northwest Whitfield are an even 5-5 against one another since August of 2016, but likely not for long. The Tigers will square off against the Bruins at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Northwest Whitfield took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Ringgold, who comes in off a win.

Having struggled with three defeats in a row, Ringgold turned things around against Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe on Tuesday. They walked away with a 6-3 victory over the Warriors.

Emorie Coles looked comfortable as she tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Hayden Gordy was incredible, going 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. Those three hits gave her a new career-high. Lainey Chandler also deserves some recognition as she got her first hit of the season.

Meanwhile, Northwest Whitfield was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 9-7 heartbreaker at the hands of Adairsville. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Bruins have suffered since September 14, 2024.

Northwest Whitfield's loss dropped their record down to 7-19. As for Ringgold, their win bumped their record up to 6-16.

Ringgold took their victory against Northwest Whitfield when the teams last played back in September by a conclusive 9-1 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Tigers since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
