West has gone a perfect 3-0 against Turner recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Chargers are taking a road trip to square off against the Golden Bears at 7:00 p.m. West is looking for their season's first victory.

West is headed into the contest out to prove that what happened against Basehor-Linwood on Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. The Chargers were dealt a 63-6 loss at the hands of the Bobcats. While losing is never fun, the Chargers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kansas football rankings (they are ranked 179th, while the Bobcats are ranked 33rd).

Despite the defeat, West saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Nasir'E Williams-Brown rushed for 89 yards on only six carries, and also caught one score.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Turner, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They took their game on Friday with ease, bagging a 42-0 win over KIPP Legacy. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Golden Bears' offense, which had struggled in the games prior.

Turner's win came from a few key players West will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Michael Estes, who rushed for 93 yards and one TD on only nine carries. Those 93 rushing yards gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Carlos Alexander, who rushed for 65 yards and one touchdown.

Turner was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 273 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.

West's loss dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Turner, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-4.

West beat Turner 32-20 in their previous meeting back in October of 2024. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was the Golden Bears' Erickson George, who rushed for 128 yards and one score on only 12 carries.
