Baseball Recap: Bainbridge Snaps Four-Game Streak of Losses on the Road

Bainbridge won the last time they faced Monroe and things went their way on Friday too. The Bainbridge Bearcats blew past the Monroe Golden Tornadoes 10-2.

Brooks Hines spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on nine hits and racked up 12 Ks. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in strikeouts.

On the hitting side, Parker Landrum was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. Those two hits gave him a new career-high. Nate Cannon was another key player, scoring a run and stealing Three bases. while going 1-for-3.

Bainbridge's victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 3-7-1. As for Monroe, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-5 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bainbridge will face off against Dougherty at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Dougherty is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9 runs per game this season. As for Monroe, they will square off against Calhoun County at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Monroe also hasn't been messing around on offense: they've averaged 8.3 runs per game.
