Alva lost to Enid back in September of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Saturday. The Goldbugs came out on top against the Plainsmen by a score of 6-2.
The team relied heavily on Rien Buehrer, who went 1-for-2 with three RBI, one run, and one double. That double marked the first that she has hit this season. Another player making a difference was Myka Louthan, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs.
Alva's win bumped their record up to 6-3. As for Enid, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 4-1.
Coming up, Enid is taking a road trip to square off against Piedmont at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Alva will be paying especially close attention to the Plainsmen's contest: after the Plainsmen face off against the Wildcats, they'll take on Alva again at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
