Basketball Game Preview: Vallejo Redhawks vs. De Anza Dons

The Vallejo Redhawks will head out on the road to take on the De Anza Dons at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Vallejo has five straight wins, De Anza has 19 straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

On Tuesday, Vallejo strolled past Swett with points to spare, taking the game 62-48.

Vallejo can attribute much of their success to Zurrie Washington, who went 5 for 8 en route to 11 points along with seven boards and four steals. Washington has been hot recently, having posted four or more steals the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was La'Quita Green, who posted two points.

De Anza played against Kennedy and lost via forfeit.

Vallejo pushed their record up to 8-10 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 23.6 points per game. As for De Anza, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-9.

Everything came up roses for Vallejo against De Anza in their previous meeting back in December of 2024, as the team secured a 76-3 win. In that matchup, Vallejo amassed a halftime lead of 37-0, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Friday.
