After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Antonian Prep, Veterans Memorial was happy to have turned things around on Saturday. They put the hurt on the Wagner Thunderbirds with a sharp 62-37 win. The Patriots have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four contests by 25 points or more this season.

Veterans Memorial's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Charles Ford led the charge by putting up 11 points. Brandon Hailey was another key player, posting ten points.

Veterans Memorial was working as a unit and finished the game with 13 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Wagner only racked up seven.

Several Thunderbirds players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Lynol Gillespie, who posted 11 points. Another player making a difference was Aiden Uresti, who put up nine points.

Veterans Memorial is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-2 record this season. As for Wagner, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-7.

As for Wagner, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 52-48 loss against New Braunfels on the 9th.
