The Cedar Cliff Colts are taking a road trip to take on the Central York Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Cedar Cliff is headed into the contest after thoroughly thrashing Cedar Crest: they outscored them in every quarter. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Colts blew the Falcons out of the water with a 35-6 final score. The Colts pushed the score to 28-6 by the end of the third, a deficit the Falcons had little chance of recovering from.
The critical scores for Cedar Cliff came from Isaiah Jones, Blake Secrest, Tywuan Byrd, Owen Anastasi, and Amarion Autry.

One reason for the win was Cedar Cliff's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for nine sacks. The heavy lifting was done by Secrest and Will Kocher, who racked up seven sacks between them. Kocher is also on a roll when it comes to total tackles, as he's now made five or more in each of the last 17 games he's played dating back to last season.
Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Central York took on William Penn last Friday. The Panthers claimed a resounding 56-14 victory over the Bearcats. The Panthers haven't had any issues with the Bearcats recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive win against them.
Central York's win came from a few key players Cedar Cliff will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Legend Johnson, who rushed for 115 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only ten carries. His longest rush was for an impressive 65 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total. Brendyn Smith was another key player, picking up 131 receiving yards and three scores.
Central York didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The team can thank two different players for their defensive prowess: Ali ?Deuce? Johnson Jr. and Cullen Gardner, who each picked up one interception apiece. Johnson Jr. got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Central York's victory bumped their record up to 9-1. As for Cedar Cliff, they now have a winning record of 6-5.
Friday's game might be decided on the ground. Cedar Cliff has been excellent on the ground this season, having averaged 172.3 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Central York struggles in that department as they've been averaging 153 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's matchup turns into a tough fight on the ground.
