Baseball Game Preview: Central Christian Comets vs. Buckeye Central Bucks

The Central Christian Comets will head out to face off against the Buckeye Central Bucks at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Buckeye Central took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Central Christian, who comes in off a win.

Central Christian's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They blew past Aquinas 6-0. Considering the Comets have won six matchups by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Meanwhile, Friday just wasn't the day for Buckeye Central's offense. They came up short against Seneca East on Friday, falling 10-0. The defeat continues a trend for the Bucks in their meetings with the Tigers: they've now lost nine in a row.

The win made it two in a row for Central Christian and bumps their season record up to 10-10. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.5 runs over those games. As for Buckeye Central, their loss dropped their record down to 5-17.

Central Christian suffered a grim 16-4 defeat to Buckeye Central in their previous meeting back in May of 2023. Can the Comets avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
