Softball Recap: Lexington Comes Up Short

Carrollton hit Lexington with a four-run first inning on Tuesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Minutemen came up short against the Trojans, falling 9-3. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Trojans this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 11-0 back in September.

Lexington saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Zoey Earnest, who went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI. That double was Earnest's first of the season. Laniya Davis was another, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Lexington's loss dropped their record down to 10-9. As for Carrollton, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 18-5.

Coming up, Lexington will take on St. Pius X at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Carrollton, they will square off against Holden at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
