Basketball Recap: Saturday's Win Is Trinity's 15th in Last 18 Outings

With a playoff win on the line, Trinity rose to the challenge on Saturday. They snuck past the Modoc Braves with a 41-37 victory. 41 seems to be a good number for the Wolves as the squad scooped up a win with the same number of points in their previous game.

Trinity's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Braelynn Nugent led the charge by putting up five points and 11 boards. Another player making a difference was Claire Cox, who dropped a double-double with ten points and ten rebounds.

Trinity smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in 17 consecutive games.

Modoc lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Allie Weber, who posted eight points and five steals. That's the most steals she has posted since back in November of 2023. The team also got some help courtesy of Jordyn Sandage, who put up ten points.

Trinity is on a roll lately: they've won 15 of their last 18 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 23-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 50.9 points over those games. With the loss, Modoc broke their five-game winning streak and moved their record to 22-9.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Trinity will challenge Sonoma Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Trinity is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 50.2 points per game this season. As for Modoc, they will take on Washington at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Modoc also hasn't been messing around on offense: they've averaged 51.7 points per game.
