Basketball Preview: Cabrillo Conquistadores vs. Lompoc Braves
Cabrillo is 9-1 against Lompoc since January of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Cabrillo Conquistadores will challenge the Lompoc Braves at 6:30 p.m. Cabrillo will be strutting in after a victory while Lompoc will be coming in after a defeat.
Last Tuesday, everything went Cabrillo's way against Santa Ynez as Cabrillo made off with a 47-27 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Conquistadores.

Cabrillo relied on the efforts of Angeliyah Gonzales, who went 8 of 10 on her way to 21 points, and Sophia Austin, who posted 15 points in addition to seven assists and three steals. Those 21 points gave Gonzales a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Sophia Powell, who put up two points along with eight rebounds and four steals.
Cabrillo smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in ten consecutive contests.
