Soccer Recap: Portal Takes a Loss

It was a proper cat-fight when Portal duked it out with Swainsboro on Thursday. The Panthers fell just short of the Tigers by a score of 1-0. Considering the last time Portal couldn't score was back in February, the team can't take the result too hard.

This is the second loss in a row for Portal and nudges their season record down to 7-5. As for Swainsboro, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-5 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Portal will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Wheeler County at 7:00 p.m. on the 18th. As for Swainsboro, they will challenge Savannah Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
