Soccer Recap: Spalding Comes Up Short

Spalding was the 4-0 winner over Eastside when they last played one another back in March of 2016, but their luck changed this time around. The Jaguars came up short against the Eagles on Monday, falling 5-0. While losing is never fun, Spalding can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia soccer rankings (they are ranked 316th, while Eastside are ranked 18th).

With the defeat, Spalding broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 4-7. As for Eastside, the victory keeps they at an undefeated 12-0.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. A feisty cat fight will be fought as Spalding face off against Whitewater at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday. Spalding's defense better be ready for this one: Whitewater has averaged an impressive 3.4 goals per game this season. As for Eastside, they will venture away from home to take on Flowery Branch at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
