Baseball Recap: Harris County Takes Down Pace Academy in a Playoff Battle

With a playoff win on the line, Harris County rose to the challenge on Wednesday. They came out on top against the Pace Academy Knights by a score of 5-2. The win was some much needed relief for the Tigers as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak.

Harris County got a great performance from JT Pirkle as he tossed six innings while giving up just two earned runs off six hits. What's more, Pirkle posted five strikeouts, the most he's had since back in February.

On the hitting side, Harris County's victory was truly a team effort as seven different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Daejeon Elder, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. That's the most RBI Elder has posted since back in March.

Harris County's win bumped their record up to 22-9. As for Pace Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 15-12.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Harris County beat the Knights by a score of 4-3 later that day.
