Soccer Game Preview: Cass vs. Southeast Whitfield County

Cass is preparing for their first region matchup of the season on Tuesday. They will host the Southeast Whitfield County Raiders at 7:30 p.m. The two teams are strolling into their matches after big wins in their previous games.

Southeast Whitfield County better have a healthy lead at halftime, because if last week is any indication, that's when Cass really gets things going. Cass blew past McEachern 6-1 on Friday. The victory was some much needed relief for the Colonels as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Southeast Whitfield County, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. Everything went their way against Douglass on Thursday as Southeast Whitfield County made off with an 11-1 win. Jonathan 'Jona' Hernandez was a massive factor in the win as he booted in seven goals all by himself.

Southeast Whitfield County used a slightly different lineup for their bout with Douglass. And. Jonathan 'John' Garcia made the most of the opportunity, scoring a goal A few more games like that and he might be seeing even more time going forward.

Southeast Whitfield County's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 4-1. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 19 goals over those four games. As for Cass, they picked up their first home win, bumping their record up to 2-3.

Cass came up short against Southeast Whitfield County in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, falling 2-0. Can Cass avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
