Baseball Recap: Pioneer Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Pioneer can now relate to. They took a 7-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Santa Cruz Cardinals on Saturday. The Mustangs just can't catch a break and have now endured five losses in a row.

Colton Bermillo made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one run and one double.

Pioneer's defeat dropped their record down to 13-15. As for Santa Cruz, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-11 record this season.

As of now, neither Pioneer nor Santa Cruz have any future games scheduled.
