Basketball Recap: Northwest Area Extends Home Winning Streak to 13

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Northwest Area had no problem doing just that on Tuesday. They enjoyed a cozy 51-35 win over the Cowanesque Valley Indians. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Rangers.

Ashlyn Hermanofski continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double with 21 points and 12 steals. Hermanofski is crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least three every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Natalia Ninotti, who posted five points and six steals.

Northwest Area was working as a unit and finished the game with 14 assists. They are a perfect 20-0 when they've passed the ball that well.

Northwest Area pushed their record up to 20-4 with the victory, which was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 22.6 points over those games. As for Cowanesque Valley, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-7 record this season.

Northwest Area wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 29-15 defeat against Muncy on the 22nd. Cowanesque Valley does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
