Basketball Game Preview: Bishop Union Broncos vs. Arvin Bears

Two dominant guards in Kristin Allen and Kimberly Ochoa are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Bishop Union Broncos will wrap up 2024 with a road trip to face off against the Arvin Bears at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday. Bishop Union's defense has only allowed 19.5 points per game this season, so Arvin's offense will have their work cut out for them.

Last Friday, Bishop Union took their game with ease, bagging a 63-12 win over Mammoth. The Broncos have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six contests by 28 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Arvin). They snuck past Bakersfield with a 55-49 victory last Saturday.

Arvin found their leader in freshman Melina Gracia, who went 6 of 15 on her way to 17 points in addition to seven boards and six steals. Those 17 points set a new season-high mark for Gracia. The team also got some help courtesy of Ochoa, who posted nine points along with seven steals and five assists.

The win made it two in a row for Bishop Union and bumps their season record up to 7-1. As for Arvin, their victory bumped their record up to 5-8.
