Softball Recap: Westminster Wildcats vs. Union Grove Wolverines

Union Grove typically has all the answers at home, but on Monday Westminster proved too difficult a challenge. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Wolverines, sneaking past 6-4. This was a revenge game for the Wildcats: when they faced off against the Wolverines on Monday, they had to take a 4-3 defeat.

Adelaide Banks spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned runs on nine hits.

At the plate, Townsend Post and Olivia Velazquez did most of the damage at the plate: Post went 2-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double, while Velazquez went 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. Those two RBI gave Velazquez a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Addie Tsang, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.

The victory got Westminster back to even at 14-14. As for Union Grove, their loss ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 18-6.

As of now, neither Westminster nor the Wolverines have any future games scheduled.
