Soccer Recap: Independence Comes Up Short

Independence lost against Mifflin back in October of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The 76ers fell just short of the Punchers by a score of 1-0. Independence's defeat continues a trend for the squad, making it three in a row.

Independence's loss dropped their record down to 3-8-1. As for Mifflin, with the win, they broke their three-match losing streak and moved their record to 5-7.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Independence will take on Bishop Watterson at 7:00 p.m. on the 18th. As for Mifflin, they will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on KIPP Columbus at 4:00 p.m. on September 25, 2026.
