Soccer Recap: Rancho Cucamonga Find Success

Rancho Cucamonga won the last time they faced Brea Olinda and things went their way on Monday too. The Rancho Cucamonga Cougars narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Brea Olinda Wildcats 2-1. Given the Cougars' advantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 111th, while the Wildcats are ranked 257th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Rancho Cucamonga is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 8-2-1 record this season. As for Brea Olinda, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 7-6-2.

Rancho Cucamonga will square off against Poly at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Poly's last three contests have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for Brea Olinda, they are taking a road trip to square off against San Gorgonio at 6:15 p.m. on Monday. Brea Olinda's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for four straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.
