Baseball Recap: Highland Bulldogs vs. Jacksonville Crimsons
It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Highland can now relate to. They came up short against the Jacksonville Crimsons on Saturday, falling 8-2. The Bulldogs were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Crimsons apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2017.
Highland saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Trent Henrichs, who went 1-for-2 with one RBI.
Highland's defeat dropped their record down to 13-24. As for Jacksonville, the win (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 27-7.
Highland does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Jacksonville, they will challenge Mascoutah at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Indians' pitching crew has only allowed 2.8 runs per game this season, so the Crimsons' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
