The Florence Huskies made easy work of the Bennett Tigers on Wednesday and carried off a 13-1 win. Considering the Huskies have won eight matchups by more than nine runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.
Addison Dalton made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out ten over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 4-for-4 with five RBI, three runs, and three doubles. That's the most hits she has posted since back in September.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Brooklyn DeSalvo, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI, one stolen base, and one run. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Lilly Roe, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, one triple, and one double.
Florence always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .588. They are a perfect 9-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
The victory made it two in a row for Florence and bumps their season record up to 10-8. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.5 runs over those games. As for Bennett, their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 11-12.
Coming up, Florence will welcome Burlington at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Bennett does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
