Basketball Recap: 17 Straight Home Wins for Linville Hill

Linville Hill won the last time they faced Conestoga Christian and things went their way on Friday too. The Linville Hill Warriors claimed a resounding 55-14 win over the Conestoga Christian Cougars. The Warriors have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven matches by 22 points or more this season.

Linville Hill had a senior duo take command as Ellie Rishel went 5 of 7 on her way to 11 points in addition to eight boards and six steals and Desiree Smucker went 7 for 15 en route to 18 points. Smucker is also crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Abrielle Fisher also deserves some recognition as she posted her first block of the season.

Linville Hill was working as a unit and finished the game with 18 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Conestoga Christian only posted three assists.

Linville Hill's victory was their 17th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 13-1. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 29.9 points per game. As for Conestoga Christian, their loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 9-7.

The future could be bright for both Linville Hill and Conestoga Christian: their next opponents haven't had the best luck recently. Linville Hill will try to hand Coventry Christian their third-straight defeat when the two meet at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Similarly, Conestoga Christian will look to extend Alliance Christian's four-game losing streak when the meet at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
