Recap: Deer Valley Wolverines vs. Liberty Lions
The Deer Valley Wolverines's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their sixth straight loss. They were beaten by Liberty 77-27. While losing is never fun, Deer Valley can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 959th, while Liberty is ranked 243rd).
Madison Perea was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 22 points and 14 rebounds for Liberty. Perea is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last four games she's played. Lea Salinas beamen was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 11 points and 11 rebounds.
Deer Valley's loss was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 1-7. As for Liberty, the win got them back to even at 9-9.
Deer Valley will face off against Concord at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Liberty, they will head out on the road to challenge Pittsburg at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Pittsburg focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 25 on Tuesday.
