Volleyball Recap: Mount Airy Takes a Loss

Mount Airy lost against Forbush back in September and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Granite Bears fell 3-1 to the Falcons.

While Mount Airy had to settle for second, they sure made a game of it, scoring at least 21 points in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-21, 25-23, 21-25, 25-22.

Karly Berrier was nothing short of spectacular for Forbush: she had 45 digs and two assists. Those 45 digs gave Berrier a new career-high.

Mount Airy now has a losing record of 9-10. As for Forbush, they have been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 11 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-7 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Mount Airy will square off against rival Surry Central at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Forbush is set to face off against their familiar foe East Surry at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
