Softball Recap: Peach County Snags Eighth Win in Last Nine Games

Peach County won against Warner Robins on Wednesday with 12 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Thursday. The Trojans didn't even let the Bainbridge Bearcats on the board, marking the Trojans' second-straight 12-0 shutout. The Trojans might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 14 contests by eight runs or more this season.

Alyssa Crozier made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over four innings pitched. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in ten consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Taleyah Marable, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with three stolen bases, three runs, and two doubles. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in August. Another player making a difference was Shaniyah Gibson, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Peach County always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .571. They are a perfect 12-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Peach County is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-8 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.1 runs over those games. As for Bainbridge, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-12.

Peach County has already played their next game, a 10-2 loss against Academy for Classical Education on the 22nd. As for Bainbridge, they will face off against Cairo at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Bearcats will need to watch out since the Syrupmakers have now posted at least ten runs in their last seven contests.
