Basketball Recap: Buckingham Charter Comes Up Short

Buckingham Charter lost against Western Sierra Collegiate Academy back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Buckingham Charter Knights were outmatched by the Western Sierra Collegiate Academy Wolves and fell 46-12. That's two games in a row now that the Knights have lost by exactly 34 points.

Western Sierra Collegiate Academy got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Caia Salgado out in front who posted nine points along with six assists and five boards. Those six assists gave Salgado a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Vidhi Rana, who put up eight points in addition to ten rebounds and four steals.

This is the second loss in a row for Buckingham Charter and nudges their season record down to 2-9. As for Western Sierra Collegiate Academy, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-4 record this season.

Buckingham Charter will challenge Sacramento Adventist at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Sacramento Adventist's defense has only allowed 29.3 points per game this season, so Buckingham Charter's offense will have their work cut out for them. Western Sierra Collegiate Academy has already played their next game (against Valley Christian), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
